Bertha Caldwell, Clayton, Illinois
“A lovely book perfect for bedtime to remind children of God’s love. My two daughters absolutely loved every bit of Harry and George’s adventures together.”
Mary Tucker, Glenville, West Virginia
“This is a must-have for every parent who want to let their kids understand the wisdom behind God’s plan. The story is simple and easy to understand that my youngest son has even memorized it and shares it with his classmates in school.”
Ronald Ryder, Burlington, Vermont
“Harry and George reminds me of my best friend in high school. We were very different people, I was very outgoing while he was quite reserved, but when I needed help he was always there. I’m happy that I get to share this valuable lesson with my kids through the story.”
About the Book
Harry the Flamingo and George the Parrot have nothing in common. They are two different species of birds from distant islands in the Bahamas, separated by 1,147 miles of deep water. The only thing they have in common is their shared faith in the One True God.
How they become the unlikeliest of friends is a mystery, but if one thing is for sure, it is a meet-up destined to happen.
God orchestrated the friendship of Harry and George; God has a plan for each one of us. He puts people who we least expect in our lives. They become our friends, our confidants. Sometimes, all we have to do is trust.
Catch Harry the Flamingo and George the Parrot as they go on extraordinary adventures. This is just the beginning!
These stories, along with Bible scriptures and prayers, are for parents and children to spend time together with each other and God, but in a way that children can relate and use their imagination as they go on the adventures with George and Harry.
Sometimes, as parents, we don’t always know how to get a message across to our children on a level that they can understand or relate to. I pray that these stories will be a vessel to help guide you in the direction that will open doors for more conversations and truths with your children.
My child, you are special and different, and I love you just the way God made you.
Libby was afraid. But she knew that George and Harry were going to be right there if she needed them.
Harry the Flamingo is a water bird. He loves to be around water most of the time. George the Parrot does not like the water. He likes to be in his nest, a hole in a tree, or in the ground. But George also likes hanging out with Harry. You see, George and Harry are best friends.
One day, as Harry was walking by George’s nest, a few feathers floated down to the ground. Harry saw the feathers: green, red, blue, white, and black. The feathers were the colors that Harry wanted. He looked around to make sure no one was watching, and stuck the feathers among his own. He was proud of how he looked. He looked like George.
Leviticus 19:11 (NIV) – Do not steal. Do not lie. Do not deceive one another.
She was beautiful, with feathers that were soft and fluffy. She loved God, her family, and all the many animals that she had watched grow up around her over the years. But her most favorite of all the animals was Harry the Flamingo, her grandson.
My child, I pray for you to be strong when trouble or sadness may come your way. I pray that you know what it feels like to be comforted by God. May you always remember that God loves you no matter what you are facing . . .
We are all different, but special, because we were made by our Heavenly Father. The color of our skin, whether you are short or tall, or even if you are a boy or a girl is exactly how God wanted you to be.
